If you also want to download your Aadhaar card, you can Download Aadhaar Card in several ways. Today we will tell you the complete step-by-step process of downloading the Aadhaar card through the Aadhaar number from the official UIDAI website, which is as follows:

  • To Download Aadhaar Card, first you need to go to the UIDAI official website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
  • On the homepage of the official website, you will see the option Download Aadhaar, you have to click on it.
  • After this, you will be taken to a new page where you will see the following options -
    1. Aadhaar Number
    2. Enrolment ID Number
    3. Virtual ID Number
    4. SID
  • As soon as you click on one option as per your choice, you will be taken to a new page as shown below.

Note :- To view your downloaded Aadhaar card, go to the download folder on your mobile/laptop and you can view the password-protected Aadhaar card PDF. To open it, you will first need to enter an 8-character password. This password will be a combination of the first 4 letters of your name (as found in Aadhaar) in CAPITAL letters and the year of birth in the format – YYYY.

For example :- If my name is RAVI and date of birth is 01/01/1999 then my password will be RAVI1999.

If your Aadhaar card has already been issued or you have registered for Aadhaar and received the Enrolment ID (EID) Number, but you have not yet received the physical Aadhaar Card, then you can download your e-Aadhaar Card using the Enrolment ID (EID) Number by following all these steps:

  • To Download Aadhaar Card via Enrolment ID Number, first you need to go to the UIDAI official website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
  • On the homepage of the official website, you will see the option Download Aadhaar, you have to click on it.
  • After this, when you click on the 'Enrolment ID (EID) Number' option, a new page will open in front of you, as shown in the screenshot below.

If you have previously applied for an Aadhaar card and have forgotten your Aadhaar number and Enrolment number, then you can download your e-Aadhaar card using your received Virtual ID Number by following all these steps:

  • To Download Aadhaar Card using Virtual ID, first you need to go to the UIDAI official website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
  • On the homepage of the official website, you will see the option Download Aadhaar, you have to click on it.
  • After this, when you click on the 'Virtual ID Number' option, a page like the one shown in the screenshot below will open in front of you.

  • After this, you need to enter the date and time of your Aadhaar enrollment correctly.
  • After this, enter the provided captcha code in the box and click on the Send OTP option.

  • After verification, click on the Submit button.
  • After this, a message saying Congratulations will appear on your mobile or laptop screen. This way, your Aadhaar card will be downloaded on your device.

Note :- If you have forgotten your Aadhaar number or Enrolment ID, you can retrieve your EID/Aadhaar Number by entering your 'Name, Mobile Number or Email' and then use this Aadhaar number or Enrolment ID to download your Aadhaar card.

If your Aadhaar card has already been issued, then you can download your Aadhaar card through DigiLocker. You can download your e-Aadhaar card by following all these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official DigiLocker website :- To Download Aadhaar Card via DigiLocker, first visit the official website digilocker.gov.in.

Step 2: Log in :- Then you need to log in using your credentials. If you do not have an account yet, create a new account using your mobile number and email.

Step 3: Search for document :- After creating a new account, click on the login option, enter your user id and password, and log in. After logging in, click on the 'Search Documents' option.

Step 4: Select Aadhaar Card :- In the search results, click on the Aadhaar Card option.

Step 5: Enter Aadhaar number and OTP :- After this, to download your Aadhaar card, you need to enter your Aadhaar number and your registered mobile number and verify with the received OTP.

Aadhar Card Download via UMANG Portal

UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) portal is a digital platform developed by the Government of India, through which you can download e-Aadhaar Card. Here is the complete process to download Aadhaar from UMANG, you have to follow these steps which are as follows:

Step 1: Visit the official UMANG portal website :-To download Aadhaar card through UMANG portal, first visit the official website of UMANG portal – web.umang.gov.in.

Step 2: Log in to the UMANG portal :- If you are not already registered, first you need to register yourself on this portal and log in.

Step 3: Select the 'My Aadhaar' option :- After logging in, on the homepage, click on the "My Aadhaar" option in the "Aadhaar" or "Documents" section.

Step 4: Select the 'Download Aadhaar' option :- After this, you will see many options in front of you. You need to click on the 'Download Aadhaar' option as shown in the screenshot.

Step 5: Verification process :-After this, a new page will open in front of you. You need to click to proceed with the verification process to download the Aadhaar card.

mAadhaar App is the official mobile application for Aadhaar. If you want to Download your Aadhaar Card via the mAadhaar App, you can download your e-Aadhaar card by following the procedure below:

Install the mAadhaar App :-

  • To download e Aadhaar Card via the mAadhaar App, first search for mAadhaar App in the Play Store search box.
  • An app like the one shown in the screenshot below will appear on your screen. You need to download and install that application.

Register in the app :-

  • To open the installed application, you need to click on the "Register Aadhaar" tab and provide some necessary permissions on your mobile.
  • After this, you will need to set a 4-digit pin/password (remember this, as it is required for profile access). Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and captcha code. You need to verify the OTP. After this, you will need to register with your phone number.
  • If you have already registered, enter your phone number and verify it using the OTP sent to your mobile.

Download Aadhaar :-

  • In that app, to download your Aadhaar card, you need to go to the My Aadhaar section on the main dashboard.
  • After this, you need to click on the 'Download Aadhaar' option.
  • After this, you need to enter your Aadhaar number/VID/EID and verify via OTP. An SMS with an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  • After this, your e-Aadhaar card will be downloaded as a digitally signed and password-protected electronic copy.

Open the downloaded PDF with password:

  • Password Format: The Aadhaar card password is the first 4 letters of your name (in CAPS) + your birth year (YYYY).
  • Example: If your (Name: Raju, DOB: 1990) then your password will be "RAJU1990".

Virtual ID Generate to Download Aadhar Card

If you have also forgotten or lost your Aadhaar number and Virtual ID Number, then you can generate a Virtual ID and download your Aadhaar card using the Virtual ID by following the steps below:

Step 1: To generate a Virtual ID, first go to the official UIDAI website https://uidai.gov.in/.

Step 2: On the official website, you will see a menu called " My Aadhaar ". Clicking on this menu option will open a popup. In that popup, you need to click on the option "Virtual ID (VID) Generator" as shown in the screenshot.

Step 3: After this, a new page will open in front of you. To get the Virtual ID (VID), click on the Generate VID option.

Step 4: After this, in that form, you need to enter your Aadhaar number and also enter the captcha code. And click on the Send OTP button.

Step 5: After this, an OTP will be received on your mobile number. Enter that received OTP and click Submit. This way, your VID will be displayed on the screen.

Note :- Once you have your Virtual ID Number, follow the steps below to download your Aadhaar.

How to Generate Enrolment Number to Download Aadhar Card

If you have also forgotten or lost your Aadhaar number and Enrolment ID Number, then you can generate your Enrolment ID Number and download your Aadhaar card again:

  • Step 1: To get the Enrolment ID Number, first go to the official UIDAI website https://uidai.gov.in/.
  • Step 2: On that official website, you will see an option called " My Aadhaar ". Clicking on this option will open a popup. In that popup, you need to click on the option "Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID" as shown in the screenshot.
